Newton House
The house was built in 1600, although it’s exterior was updated with a Gothic facade in the 1850s. We’ve been here many times, I once did a wedding photo shoot at the house to help promote it as a wedding venue.
I also visited it late in at night with the Dinefwr Photographic Society. We went there to shoot the night sky.

Dinefwr Castle
The castle ruins are situated overlooking the River Towy.

Dinefwr Park
The grounds surrounding the house and gardens are vast and open to the public. They are free to enter, you just need to pay for parking, which is free to National Trust members.
There is a boarded walkway that leads through a woods to the mill pond. Here you can see various water birds and other pond wildlife. Walking in the other direction takes you through more woods and up to the castle ruins.
If you keep your eyes peeled you might see the resident herd of fallow deer. There is also white park cattle which are usually in the field at the front of the house.
