In the UK there is a lot of debate and confusion over what country we actually live in.
We do not see England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland as countries, but part of “The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland”, as that’s what our passports say. We also believe a country should have an Embassy. We’ve never seen an English Embassy when I’ve been abroad, but we do see British Embassies.
Therefore, we class ourselves as simply 100% British.
- Both Andy & I were born and raised in England
- We have lived in Wales since 2013
- My father was born in the Republic of Ireland (part of the EU not the UK)
- Andy’s grandparents are Scottish
- Abi was born and raised in Wales
United Kingdom Counties Visited:
I would like to eventually visit every part of the UK, in total I believe there are 108 counties, and so far we’ve visited 50:
- English Counties Visited
- Northern Ireland Counties Visited
- Scottish Counties Visited
- Welsh Counties Visited
British Overseas Territories Visited:
There are 14 British Overseas Territories, of which I’ve visited only one. Some are military bases only, so it is not possible to visit and others at best rather tricky to get to. If we do visit anymore, I’ll be sure to update this list.
- Gibralter ✔
Crown Dependencies Visited:
We are working on plans to visit some, or possibly all of these places very soon:
- Isle of Man
- Channel Islands:
- Guernsey Bailiwick:
- Alderney
- Guernsey
- Herm
- Sark
- Jersey
- Guernsey Bailiwick:
And finally, in case you were wondering about the Scilly Isles, they are part of England, under the Cornwall county.
