We took Andy’s dad to visit the National Woollen Mill.
This museum is free to enter and especially worth visiting on a rainy day in the school summer holidays when they often have all the machinery fired up and running.
At this point in time, the factory was still operating as a business and you could go upstairs to a viewing area and watch and listen to the machines. Ear defenders were supplied and were needed.
The factory shut in 2024, but the museum is in the process of taking over the factory and is hoping to reopen as part of the museum in 2026.
