Overlanders Festival & Dorset 2025

We had day tickets to the Van Life and Overlanders Festival at Newbury Showground. We thought we were pretty cool to have a bath in Andy’s van, but we were outdone by someone else who had a hot tub that they towed behind their camper!

The festival was pretty sparse so we left earlier and visited Nanny & Grandad and spent the night with them.

The next day we visited Uncle Chris and took his dog Layla for a walk around Chawton.

Our next stop was Hundred Acre Woods, in Wickham where we met up with Aunty Kelly & Darcey to recreate a photo shoot from when the girls were toddlers.

After a late lunch stop enjoying the views from Portchester Hill we continued west to the New Forest where Abi saw her first wild ponies.

Poole Splashdown

We spent the night in Poole ready to visit the Splashdown Waterpark the next day.

This waterpark was really good with a great selection of slides.

Kingston Lacy

After the waterpark we popped into Kingston Lacey, National Trust property.

We started the long drive home, spending the night in a quite residential street near Bridgend.

The next day we popped in on our friends The Rossiters once again.

One of the things I love most about camper trips is never knowing what you’re going to see on the road. We home educate Abi and her understanding and knowledge of the world grows with each trip. We stopped in a layby to watch a combine harvester in action. At the services we noticed the police had cordoned off an area where there had just been a car fire, it was obviously fresh as the smell was strong and surprisingly the car’s indicators were still flashing.
