Snow Blading in La Grande Terche, France & Nice and Monaco 2004

On Thursday 15th January 2004 my dad drove us to the airport and we fly to Nice.

After the worst nights sleep ever in a hotel in Nice, we drove our hire car down to Monaco and through Eze village.

On Saturday we drove up to Ian’s apartment in the Port du Soleil region. We’d under estimated the drive and it ended up taking 7.5 hours!

On Sunday and Monday we snow bladed in La Grande Terche and I learnt how to play chess.

On Tuesday we hired sledges as it had snowed hard overnight.

On Wednesday we bladed in Morzine and Les Gets and I won my first chess match.

Our friends joined us on the Saturday and we spent the day off piste.

We left on Sunday and drove back to the airport through The Mont Blanc Tunnel only to be stopped at the Italian exit by armed police who basically escorted us to the cash point and demanded some cash as we had apparently been speeding through the tunnel.
