Blackbushe Market & Camberley Kart Club

Blackbushe Market

Anyone who lived near Hampshire/Surrey during the 1980’s would have visited Blackbushe Sunday Market at least once.

At the time, it was the largest open air market in Europe. It closed suddenly in May 2015 due to lack of customers. No doubt online sites like eBay, and the rise in Pound Shops on the High Street are mostly the reason why. It had been going for over 35 years.

2002 – Camberley Kart Club

Behind the market is Blackbushe Kart Club, which we were members of for numerous years. I was their official club photographer from 2006 – 2012 whilst Andy completed in the Senior TKM class, of which he was champion.

2007 – Blackbushe Airport

On the same site, you will find Blackbushe Airport. It was from here that I took an aerial shot of the kart track, whilst on a flying experience that my dad was doing. We went up with an instructor in a Cessna and my dad took the controls while I took many photos out of the window of our local area.
