We decided to try our hand at snow boarding so headed to the resort of Ela Hotel in Borovets in Bulgaria. We took Andy’s younger sister Kelly and her friend Becky with us.
We went late in the season because it was cheaper, but of course it’s cheaper cor a reason…the snow was melting.
This meant there was only one nursery slope and that required the use of a button lift. As any seasoned skiier will tell you, hours of fun can be had watching the beginner snow boarder attempt to use a button lift.
We actually opted to remove the board and carry it up the slope so we were of course exhausted.
One day a snow storm set in extremely fast and we ended up being rescued by a snow ambulance, who stopped and asked us “What we are you doing?” as we were all just laid down having a rest, with no idea of the impending white out.
We decided to try skiing next time.
